If going on a long hike it is always a good idea to bring water and snacks.

Insect repllent is important especially in late spring or summer when mosquitoes and black flies can be out.

Sun block and a hat may be important on sunny days.

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suited for the season. Wearing long pants and long sleeves can protect you from sun and insects.

A fully charged cell phone can help you if you get disoriented.

Print out the refuge guides or have them on your cell phone (select the Visitor Information links on the left to get the guides).
